Refund Policy

TYCHR PRIVATE LIMITED

1. Introduction

This Refund Policy explains the circumstances in which refunds are available for services purchased from TYCHR PRIVATE LIMITED ("TYCHR", "we", "us", "our"). It should be read together with our Terms and Conditions and our Cancellation Policy.

Important: Where the student is under 18 years of age, "you" means the parent or lawful guardian who entered into the agreement on the student's behalf and who is the paying party.

2. General Principle

a. Services are sold as prepaid packages of tutoring hours at an agreed hourly rate, or as fixed-price engagements, as set out in the invoice, fee quote or "Course Fee Details" document issued to you (each, an "Order").

b. Because tutoring is a personalised service delivered over time, refunds are governed by the specific circumstances set out below.

c. All refund requests must be made in writing to contact@tychr.com or to your coordinator.

3. Refunds for Unused, Unexpired Hours

a. Where you have prepaid for a package of hours and wish to discontinue, you may request a refund of the unused, unexpired portion of hours you have paid for, subject to the conditions in this Policy.

b. The refund amount will be calculated as follows:

Refund = (Unused hours ÷ Total hours purchased) × Total fees paid

c. Hours that have expired in accordance with the validity period in the Order are not refundable. See Section 6 below.

d. A reasonable processing fee may be deducted from the refund amount to cover administrative and payment-gateway costs.

e. Refunds are made to the original payment method where possible, or by bank transfer to an account in your name.

4. Refunds Where We Cancel or Cannot Deliver

a. If we cancel a session and cannot reschedule within a reasonable period, we will credit the hours back to your account. No refund is issued for individual session cancellations; the hours remain available for future use within the validity period.

b. If we terminate the agreement for convenience under our Terms and Conditions, we will refund the unused, unexpired portion of hours you have paid for, without deduction of the processing fee described in Section 3(d).

c. If we materially reduce a Service you have already paid for, we will offer you a pro-rated credit or refund of the affected portion.

d. If we terminate the agreement for cause (for example, breach, non-payment, academic misconduct, or abusive behaviour) under our Terms and Conditions, no refund is payable.

5. Refunds for Technical Failures

a. If a session is lost to a failure of our Platform, the hours are credited back to your account. No cash refund is issued for individual technical failures; the hours remain available for future use within the validity period.

b. If a session is lost to a failure of your device, internet connection, or environment, the session is treated as delivered and no refund or credit is issued.

6. Expired Hours

a. Each package carries a validity period, stated in the Order and running from the date of the first session or the date of payment, whichever we specify.

b. Hours not used before the end of the validity period expire and are not refundable, transferable or carried forward, unless we agree otherwise in writing or applicable law requires otherwise.

c. We will endeavour to notify you before expiry, but the responsibility to use the hours within validity is yours. Failure to notify does not extend validity and does not create a right to a refund.

d. You may request an extension in writing before expiry. We may grant, refuse or condition an extension at our discretion. Grant of an extension does not create a right to a refund of any other expired hours.

7. Fixed-Price Engagements

a. Where you have purchased a fixed-price engagement (for example, a specific programme, course, or bundle), refunds are available only as expressly stated in the Order or as required by applicable law.

b. If the Order does not specify a refund entitlement, the general principles in Sections 3 to 6 apply to the extent they can be applied to the engagement.

c. Where a fixed-price engagement is terminated by us for convenience, we will refund the pro-rated portion of the fee corresponding to the undelivered part of the engagement.

8. No Refund for Services Already Delivered

a. Fees for sessions already delivered are non-refundable.

b. Fees for hours already used are non-refundable.

c. Where the student has attended a session, the hours for that session are treated as delivered, even if the student did not engage fully or left early.

9. Statutory Rights

a. Nothing in this Refund Policy excludes or limits any right you may have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, or any other applicable law.

b. Where applicable law requires a refund in circumstances not covered by this Policy, we will comply with that law.

c. Where this Policy conflicts with a mandatory statutory right, the statutory right prevails.

10. How to Request a Refund

a. Submit your request in writing to contact@tychr.com or to your coordinator.

b. Include:

c. We will acknowledge your request promptly.

d. We will assess your request and notify you of our decision within a reasonable time of receiving all necessary information.

e. Approved refunds will be processed within a reasonable time of approval, subject to bank or payment-gateway processing times.

11. Chargebacks

a. If you initiate a chargeback with your bank or card issuer without first contacting us, we reserve the right to suspend your account and any pending Services while the dispute is investigated.

b. We will cooperate with the bank or card issuer and provide evidence of delivery of Services.

c. If a chargeback is resolved in your favour, we will comply with the outcome. If it is resolved in our favour, the amounts remain payable and your account may remain suspended until payment is made.

12. Currency and Exchange Rates

a. Refunds are made in Indian Rupees (INR) unless the original payment was made in another currency and the payment channel requires a refund in that currency.

b. Where a refund is made in a currency other than INR, the amount refunded is based on the INR amount actually credited to our account after conversion and charges at the time of original payment.

c. Exchange-rate movements between the original payment and the refund are at your risk.

d. Bank charges, intermediary bank fees, foreign exchange costs, card and gateway charges incurred in processing a refund are your responsibility and may be deducted from the refund amount.

13. Changes to This Refund Policy

a. We may update this Refund Policy to reflect changes in our practices, Services, or applicable law.

b. The updated version will be posted on the Platform with a new effective date.

c. Where a change materially affects your rights, we will give you reasonable advance notice by email or through the Platform.

d. The Refund Policy in force at the time of your purchase governs your refund entitlement, unless a change is required by law.
