Shagufta
Hi I am Shagufta, I have a strong passion for science, both as a learner and a teacher. Ever since I began my pre-med studies, I have enjoyed teaching and helping students, and I have tutored across a range of science subjects. Through my tutoring experience, I have worked with students following different curricula, including the IB and GCSE, adapting my teaching approach according to each student's needs and learning style. I believe that learning is a lifelong process, and I strive to make complex concepts clear, as well as fascinating, so that students not only achieve better understanding but also develop genuine curiosity about the world around them.

Teaching Philosophy
I believe science becomes much easier to understand when students are encouraged to ask questions and investigate concepts rather than simply memorise them. My approach focuses on building strong conceptual foundations while developing scientific reasoning.
Students Often Struggle With
MYP students often struggle when they are expected to explain scientific concepts rather than recall them. They may also need support in applying knowledge to unfamiliar situations, structuring investigations and communicating scientific reasoning clearly.
Favourite Part of Teaching
I enjoy seeing students move from uncertainty to genuine curiosity about science. Helping them connect scientific concepts to real-world situations and develop confidence in asking and answering their own questions is particularly rewarding.
